What’s this project all about?
This redesign of The Great Gatsby explores themes of luxury, illusion, and fragility through a contemporary, Art Deco, inspired visual system. The project extends across the front, back, and spine, creating a cohesive and unified design.
Typography, pattern, and illustration work together to establish structure and elegance, supported by a limited palette of muted greens and warm golds. Repeating geometric motifs add rhythm and consistency, reinforcing the overall visual language.
At the center, champagne glasses serve as a symbolic focal point, suggesting both celebration and underlying tension. The result is a design that captures the novel’s balance of glamour and instability through a clear, modern aesthetic.
